COWLITZ COUNTY, WA (KPTV) -

The Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office has introduced a new Narcotic Detection K9 while announcing the retirement of another K9.

CCSO introduced K9 Kelo and his handler, Deputy Ness Aguilar, on Monday.

K9 Kelo is a Springer Spaniel certified in the detection of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

"I'm thrilled to have Kelo on board." Sheriff Mark Nelson said. "He works cheap, has a great attitude and greatly improves the looks of the whole agency."

While announcing the new K9, CCSO also announced the retirement of K9 Annie, the Sheriff's Office former Narcotic Detection K9.

K9 Annie worked with Deputy Craig Shelton for the past 6 years after beginning her career with former deputy Jennifer Prusa.
