VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Police say a 13-year-old Vancouver girl is home safe, after a group of men allegedly tried to pull her inside of an SUV Sunday night.

Police told FOX 12 this all happened while three 13-year-old girls were outside of the Burton Market on 8601 Northeast Burton Road in Vancouver around 6 p.m.

One of the girls, named Alex, told FOX 12 she knew something wasn’t right from the moment the group of men pulled into the parking lot in a red SUV.

“They were staring at us, and I didn’t have a good feeling,” said Alex. “I told my friends that we needed to get out of here and walk fast and get home.”

Alex thinks there were four or five men in the car, but only two went inside.

The store manager, told FOX 12 he’s owned the neighborhood market for 20 years, and says he’s never seen the men before.

“Two Hispanic men came in here and they bought cigarettes and candy and walked out,” said Burton Market Owner Gian Singh.

Right after that, Alex said the men began whistling at her and her friends. When they tried to walk away the men followed them down the street in their car, according to the teen.

“They were saying, ‘hey baby come here,’ trying to lure us in the car,” said Alex. “They were serious about taking us, they were trying to pull my friend in their car and she was almost in their car when she got away, she started kicking and punching and doing whatever she could to get out of the car.”

Alex said another girl she was with punched the guy’s arm to help free her friend.

“She squirmed away and we took off running behind someone’s house so we could call the cops,” said Alex.

When police got there, they searched all over the neighborhood for group of men and the red SUV, but said they couldn’t find them.

Unfortunately, Singh told FOX 12 surveillance cameras at the market didn’t capture them either.

Alex said she’s grateful she and her friends got away, and is sharing her story to warn others about what happened.

“I never thought this could happen to me, and my friends never thought it could happen to us,” said Alex.

Police said there is no detailed suspect description to go off of at this point, but believe the men were in a red GMC SUV.
