HARNEY COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A Boise woman was killed in a head-on crash involving car and a semi-truck along Highway 20 in Harney County Sunday.

Oregon State Police said 30-year-old Sara Allison was driving east on Highway 20 near milepost 156 around 9 p.m. when she was struck by an oncoming semi-truck that was attempting to pass a slow-moving motorhome in a no passing zone.

The truck driver, 32-year-old James Decou, swerved towards a ditch to avoid the Allison, according to officers.

Allison swerved the same direction towards the ditch and crashed into the truck head-on.

Allison was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, 27-year-old Matthew Allison, was taken by air ambulance to a Portland hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Decou was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

Highway 20 was closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and potential criminal charges are being considered, according to OSP.
