Officers, deputy identified in fatal shooting of man in Tualatin

TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -

The law enforcement members involved in the shooting of a man in Tualatin in May have been identified according to the Tualatin Police Department.

Those involved include Tualatin Officer Eric French, Beaverton officers Charles Wujcik and Aaron Oberst, Washington County Sergeant Chris Schweigert, Hillsboro Officer Anthony Cristofaro and Tigard Officer Nathaniel Will.

Police responded to a disturbance call on southwest Cheyenne Way on May 30 around 4:15 p.m.

Officials arrived to find 70-year-old Robert Wickizer attempting to break into a neighbor’s home after two of his family members barricaded themselves inside.

After multiple warnings, officials used lethal force against Wickizer. He was shot and killed at the scene.

As is standard procedure, the law enforcement members were placed and remain on paid administrative leave.

The Washington County Major Crimes Team is still investigating the incident.
