PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

One sure sign that the Portland Rose Festival is in full swing is the kickoff of Fleet Week!

This year 13 vessels will be visiting the Portland waterfront, including ships from the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Royal Canadian Navy.

Of course, Fleet Week means bridge lifts, and commuters who use the Broadway, Steel, and Burnside bridges should expect some delays.

The first ships arrive Wednesday afternoon between and 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., with the next round scheduled to arrive on Thursday between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The ships will be offering free public tours. For more information on the tours and to see a full listing of ships coming to Portland for Fleet Week, go to RoseFestival.org.
