PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are searching for a man who made a lewd comment to a woman, groped her breasts and wrestled her over a small retaining wall to the ground.

Police said the attack occurred at 10 p.m. Monday near Southeast 35th Avenue and Woodward Street.

The woman said the stranger approached her and then assaulted her as she walked in the neighborhood.

As the man was holding her down, the victim said she kicked, punched, screamed and fought until he released her.

The man was last seen running away northbound on 35th Avenue.

The woman reported the incident the following morning. Police checked the area for evidence and possible witnesses.

The woman described the suspect as a white man, 50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall with sandy blond hair, a ponytail and a receding hairline. He was wearing dark-colored cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.

The victim met with a forensic sketch artist and a sketch of the suspect was released Friday.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Officer Michael Bledsoe at michael.bledsoe@portlandoregon.gov.

People with surveillance cameras in the area are asked to check their recordings for any possible images of the suspect.
