NEAR SISTERS, OR (KPTV) -

The Akawana Fire has burned 2,094 acres, and is 60 percent contained, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.

Cool temperatures and higher humidity helped the efforts of fire crews Friday.

According to the Oregon Department of Forestry, all Level 2 Evacuation notifications have been lowered to a Level 1. This includes homes in the Three Rivers Subdivision.

On Saturday, fire crews will focus their efforts on mop-up operations in the fire’s interior.

The Oregon Department of Forestry said while some heavy equipment and air resources are being released, additional crews are being brought in to dig out hot spots from beneath stumps and soak larger fuels on the ground.

So far, the estimated cost of fighting the fire is approximately $960,000.
