PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland is showing its support for the victims of the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando.

Mayor Charlie Hales raised the rainbow flag to half-staff at City Hall on Monday. He posted the video on Twitter, saying, "A small gesture to show support #PulsePride #OrlandoStrong."

Portland Community College said it is flying LGBTQ solidarity flags on all of its campuses.

The Morrison Bridge in downtown Portland was lit in rainbow colors Monday night in solidarity with the victims.

And in Oregon, Gov. Kate Brown ordered state public institutions to lower flags to half-staff until sunset on Thursday.

"My thoughts are with the victims in Orlando, their loved ones and families, and I extend my sincere gratitude to the first responders," she said in a news release Sunday. "As Oregonians, we share in the pain and mourning reverberating across the United States and world today."
