Traffic officials have closed two northbound lanes of I-5 near Tualatin after a semi-truck crashed and spilled diesel fuel onto the road.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the crash happened near Nyberg Road at milepost 289 around 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials said about 160 gallons of diesel fuel leaked onto the road. Crews said they used about 7500 pounds of oil absorbent material to soak up the fuel.

Two northbound lanes and the eastbound Nyberg Road on-ramp are closed while crews work to clear the crash. Officials reopened the on-ramp around 6:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported. Officials said the driver of an SUV caused the crash. That driver was cited.

ODOT expects the lanes will remained closed for at least three hours. Drivers should expect delays.
