Festival of Flowers wrapping up, some plants for sale

Posted: Updated:

The Festival of Flowers at Pioneer Courthouse Square is wrapping up, and that means now you can actually buy some of those plants.

The flowers have been on display since the beginning of the month, and you can now pick some up for 83 cents a plant.

The sale on Wednesday went until 6 p.m., but you can also stop by on Thursday and Friday.

One woman Fox 12 spoke with said she really loves seeing the flowers and is happy she can now take some home.

"I've really been enjoying the display for the last few weeks. It's a pop of color every morning and every evening, it's like get on the MAX and get off the MAX," said Canby Tan, who was buying flowers Wednesday. "I bought a house last year and we have a giant yard and I have no idea what to do with it, so part of it is experimentation and this is about as cheap as garden experimentation can get other than getting free starts from neighbors."

All the proceeds from the flowers sales will be used to make next year's Festival of Flowers.
