A disturbance call at a McMinnville club lead to a pursuit, crash and officer involved shooting early Saturday morning, according to the McMinnville Police Department.

McMinnville Police responded at approximately 12:35 a.m. to the report of a disturbance at the Cabana Club, located at 425 Northeast 3rd Street.

Officers tried to talk to the suspect, who got into the passenger seat of blue Impala that drove away.

According to McMinnville Police, officers then tried to stop the car which turned into a pursuit from the McMinnville Library to 2nd and Michelbook where the car crashed into an electrical box.

Police said the car then stopped at the Newby School bus parking lot.

Officers initiated a high-risk stop, and one of the officers fired a single round into the crashed vehicle, according to police. No one was hit by the fired round.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the crash and was later released.

Police said the driver and passenger have been interviewed by investigators.

Due to the officer involved shooting, the Yamhill County Major Crimes Response Team was activated and is investigating the incident.
