Police: Man killed, suspect in custody after shooting in Beaverton

BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

One of the two victims in Saturday night’s shooting at The Courts in Beaverton died early Sunday morning, according to Beaverton Police.

The victim has been identified as Andres Castorena, 23, of Beaverton.

According to police, the second victim has been identified as Fernando Chaires, 23, of Beaverton. Chaires is in serious condition at a local hospital, but is expected to survive..

Beaverton Police responded to shots fired at The Courts around 9 p.m. Saturday.

When police arrived, officers found the two victims with gunshot wounds.

Beaverton police learned that the two victims were driving in a car and pulled into the parking lot of The Courts, when an argument occurred between pedestrians. 

Police have identified the suspect as Roshawn Travers, 19, of Beaverton. Travers was initially charged with two counts of first-degree assault. An additional charge of murder was added after the death of Casterano.

The Major Crimes Team is investigating, according to police.
