PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Detectives have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that left one person dead and another injured in Portland's Chinatown late Sunday night.

Portland police were called to the scene around 10:15 p.m. near the area of Northwest 4th Avenue and Northwest Davis Street.

Officers said one man and one woman each suffered at least one gunshot wound. The male victim died from his injuries. The woman was shot in the leg but is expected to be OK.

Witnesses of the shooting identified a possible suspect to police. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect near the Chevron gas station on Burnside.

The suspect was identified as 48-year-old Thomas Lincoln Dorris. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on the charge of murder.

Detectives recovered a gun they believe was used in the shooting.

Police said there is no risk to the public and the incident does not appear to be related to any Portland Pride activities.
