SELLWOOD, OR (KPTV) -

A woman walking her dog near Sellwood Riverfront Park told police she was grabbed by a masked man wielding a pocket knife who was trying to rob her.

Officers responded to Southeast Oaks Park Way and Spokane Street at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

An 18-year-old told police she was walking her dog on the trail in the wooded area along the river toward Oaks Amusement Park when a man came out of the bushes and demanded her property.

The woman said she did not have anything on her and ran away back toward Sellwood Riverfront Park. She then went to a nearby friend's home and called 911.

Several officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, 6 feet tall with a skinny build, light brown hair and a possible goatee. He was wearing a black mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black cargo pants and black shoes.

The victim was not injured, according to police.
