WASHOUGAL, WA (KPTV) -

Dozens of cats from Utah arrived in Washington on an airplane Tuesday hoping to find new homes.

The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society received 30 cats from a humane society in Utah.

The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society in Washougal has been working over the past year with the Cache Humane Society in Logan, Utah to find new homes for cats in the Pacific Northwest.

They received 29 cats in January and another 30 in March.

The initial transfers were so successful, the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society arranged to take in more cats.

The cats were flown to Camas and then taken to the Washougal shelter.

Once the cats are settled from their travels, they will be available for adoption starting Friday.

The cats have already been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and have received parasite control treatment.

Anyone interested in adopting the cats can call 360-835-3463 or go to wcghs.org.

The cats were flown by nonprofit organization Dog is my CoPilot.
