FOREST GROVE, OR (KPTV) -

A woman, two cats and a dog are safe after flames forced them out of their Forest Grove home on Tuesday.

Forest Grove Fire & Rescue responded to the fire at 18th Avenue and Juniper Street around 2 p.m. Firefighters from Hillsboro and Gaston also helped battle the fire.

No injuries were reported.

FOX 12 spoke with a neighbor who said he came running out of his home when he smelled smoke at the other end of the street.

"I was sanding my floors and I came out and saw smoke, and the fire department comes by and you couldn't see down the street in any direction. It was just fully engulfed," said John Petti.

Forest Grove Fire said the homeowner was cooking potpourri on the stove which started the fire.

The home is considered a total loss.
