PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Several Oregon restaurants will be participating in the annual Bites for Rights celebration Thursday, a dinning event that supports the LGBTQ community.

Over 100 restaurants, bars, coffee shops and bakeries will be donating a percentage of Thursday’s sales to the group Basic Rights Oregon.

Basic Rights Oregon is an organization that supports equality for all lesbian, gay bisexual, transgender and queer Oregonians.

Nearly 50 Portland restaurants are participating in Bites for Rights.

General Manager Jean Terret participating restaurant Cadillac Cafe in northeast Portland said the Bites for Rights campaign is a great representation of the Portland community.

"We believe that a diverse workforce is really important. It makes for a quality workforce," said Terret.
