Police: Man arrested in connection to shooting, crash in NE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Detectives have taken one man into custody in connection to the shooting and related car crash in northeast Portland Saturday, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Antonio Mayshack, 24, was arrested Saturday evening on charges of attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm. According to police, Mayshack was also held on outstanding charges of robbery in the third degree and criminal trespass in the first degree.

Officers responded to the report of gunfire at Northeast 106th Avenue and Glisan Street at around 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

Police said 15 minutes later, they responded to a crash on 162nd Avenue between Halsey and Multnomah Streets. Officers later determined that the crash and shooting were likely connected.

Detectives believe Mayshack was the driver of the car that crashed and burned on Northeast 162nd Avenue. 

Police said they also found a firearm inside the car.

The other man in the car remains in the hospital with serious injuries, and has not been charged with any crime.

According to Portland Police, the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Portland Police.
