A lost goat is back at home after she went missing over the weekend.

Daisy the goat was found by a Tigard police officer Saturday night and brought to the Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter.

"On Sunday morning, our staff check the kennel area where police officers drop off animals that they bring in after hours," said Deborah Wood, who manages the shelter. "Instead of the frequent dog and occasional cat, we found a goat."

Shelter staff say they took good care of Daisy while waiting to find her owner. They say she was quite the treat, as they're used to seeing cats and dogs come in each day and a goat, on the other hand, was new.

"We usually have about 50 animals come as strays that are not dogs and cats each year," said Wood. "You just never know what will happen when you walk into work in the morning."

Daisy was reunited with her very worried and loving owner Monday.
