Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who was involved in a deadly collision early Wednesday morning in Salem.
Police responded to the 1600 block of Liberty Street Southeast at 3:15 a.m.
Officers arrived to find a person in the street. The person, whose name has not yet been released by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was hit by an unknown vehicle.
The Traffic Control Unit was dispatched to investigate. The road was closed for five hours.
