Portland nonprofit changes lives with $1

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

You may think a dollar isn’t much, but Jared Walker says collectively, we can change lives.

Walker founded the non-profit called Dollar For Portland Last year to help families pay for overwhelming medical expenses.

Sign up to donate $1 each month, and 100 percent of the donations will go to a selected family in need.

The foundation has paired up with dozens of local businesses to help promote the cause and has raised more than $30,000 for close to a dozen families in need.

This month, all of the donations help support Centennial High School teacher Justin Rosenblad and his battling with cancer.
