ESTACADA, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who has been missing for a week.

Police said James Earl Smith, 35, was reported missing by his wife on Wednesday after he did not return from dinner and had missed a few days of work which is out of character for him.

On Sunday, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office found Smith's car in the area of Promontory Park outside of Estacada.

Rescue crews and volunteers have been searching that area.

Smith is described as 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has very short red hair and facial hair.

Any hikers or users of Promontory Park and area roads are asked to call 911 if they see Smith or have any information on his whereabouts.
