GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

Two brothers visiting from Eugene are feeling lucky to be alive after they got robbed at gunpoint inside a Gresham motel room.

Adam Curry and Ryan Hill were staying at Motel 6 on Southeast 181st and Stark and they came up with a plan for a fun evening.

“So we were on a dating site and just trying to have a little fun when we were at the motel,” said Curry. “Just hang out, watch some TV and all that stuff.”

Curry and Hill invited a couple girls from Meetme.com to come over to their motel room. When they arrived, Curry says the girls left their door open, just a crack, saying they wanted some fresh air. Then the foursome hung out for a bit and the girls offered to give the guys massages. Just as they started to lie down on the bed, Hill says they got ambushed by two men.

“The next thing we knew, the guys busted through the doors and had a gun, pointing it at us,” said Hill.

Curry added, “I could see a ski mask and him holding a gun – pointing it like right at my face. And he was like get down! Put your face in the pillow!”

Curry said the men tied them up with tape and their own clothes. And while one held a gun to Curry’s head, the other man and the girls gathered up all of their stuff – laptop computers, a game console, their wallets, cash, phones and even Hill’s shoes. The group left with everything while Curry and Hill waited a few minutes and then called police.

Officers arrived immediately and took evidence to check for possible fingerprints.

Curry and Hill are upset about what was stolen, but mostly, they’re just grateful to be able to talk about it.

“We’ve really got to appreciate it. That really put things into perspective, you know.”

Both of the male suspects were wearing masks so the brothers did not get a good look at them. But they said the women were both black, between 5’2’’ and 5’6’’ and their names were Robin and Rhia. Gresham police are investigating.
