BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A battering ram was used to reach a wanted man who locked himself in the bathroom of a Beaverton business after he ran from officers and dropped a gun, according to police.

Officers patrolling the Beaverton Transit Center approached 20-year-old Kwaleam Thomas Pinkly at 10:49 a.m. Thursday.

Police said he repeatedly provided false information and then ran away. Pinkly had a felony warrant for first-degree robbery.

Officers said they recovered a gun that Pinkly dropped as he ran away.

Officers followed Pinkly to a nearby strip mall and said he locked himself in the bathroom of the Asian Food Center.

When he refused to come out, police said a battering ram was used to break down the door. A K-9 team and multiple officers helped take him into custody.
