A 20-year-old man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car early Friday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to the incident on River Road North just after 2:40 a.m.

Preliminary information indicates Walter Westgarth, 65, was driving a 2005 Volkswagen Passat in the curb lane through the intersection of Chemawa Road Northeast with a green light.
