VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

This Fourth of July will be the last one where people will be able to buy fireworks in Vancouver.

There is a long list of churches and nonprofits that will be selling for the last year in the city limits. Saturday is the first day they can start selling, but people with the Vancouver Elks Lodge are already setting up.

FOX 12 spoke with one of the organizers, Mike Wilson. He said they have been in the same spot for the last five years or so, but over the last few years they have been squeezed down on the number of days they can sell and the days those fireworks can be fired off.

Now that it is the last year they can sell, they will be coming up with other ways to support the community next year.

"Our fundraising here supports a lot of kids in the area with uniforms for ball teams such as basketball, soccer, baseball as well as Boy Scouts, so it's going to be a big impact on our ability to provide that support. In some cases some of these kids, they don't have the resources. They look to us for support and without this type of an event where the community contributes, it's going to be an impact on the whole community not just the Elks," said Wilson.

Firework sales begin in Vancouver on July 2 and go until July 4. Residents are able to set off fireworks only on July 4.
