PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

As the Fourth of July weekend begins, Portland Fire & Rescue would like to remind people to not call 911 if they see illegal fireworks going off.

If you do see illegal fireworks going off, please call the non-emergency lines for your local law enforcement.

To report illegal fireworks within the Portland area, people can call 503-823-BOOM (2666).

PF&R said they expect thousands of calls during peak fireworks periods, so don't be surprised if they don't get back to you right away.

PF&R said there is a new online form where Portlanders can file reports of illegal fireworks activity in the City of Portland.

To access the online form, click here.

If you have unwanted fireworks, legal or illegal, any Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue fire station will take them for you.
