COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, OR (KPTV) -

Rescue crews responded to the report of an injured hiker on Eagle Creek Trail Wednesday night.

Hood River County Sheriff Matt English said they received a call at 7:40 p.m. that a woman had fallen near the waterfalls on the trail, about four and a half miles up the trail. It is believed the woman was with a group and she may have fallen in the water and then got out.

Crews had to perform a rope rescue to get to the woman, who was conscious when crews reached her and appeared to have a few broken bones.

There is currently no update on her condition.

American Medical Response, Hood River Crag Rats and Cascade Locks Fire responded to the rescue.
