HAPPY VALLEY, OR (KPTV) -

An 18-year-old accused of hiring a prostitute and later claiming she was a burglar pleaded guilty to the charge of initiating a false report.

Ethan Kwon, 18, entered his plea in court Thursday.

The case began in April when the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office sent out a surveillance photo of an alleged burglary suspect at a Happy Valley home.

Deputies were told the woman walked through an unlocked door and stole $200 from a nightstand in an upstairs bedroom.

The homeowner's 18-year-old son was in the house at the time, but he said he was listening to music on his headphones and didn't know anyone had been in the home.

Detectives soon determined Kwon's story was made up. They said Kwon invited the woman inside his family's home.

He was initially facing the charge of commercial sexual solicitation, but that charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Kwon was sentenced to one year probation and 24 hours of community service Thursday.
