“He was out celebrating his nephew’s 21st birthday,” Mashia adds the shooting happened in public and people were around Irving.

Irving’s sister, Chauncey said to be quiet about information is continuing to put everyone else in danger.

The two are advocating for change to happen in the community, for people to speak up if they see something.

“If we don’t stand up for something, we fall for everything,” Mashia said.

Chauncey did tell Fox 12 that in light of current events and social media, more attention being focused on an existing problem.

“For us to know the death of someone in a matter of 24-hours around the world is a phenomenal thing,” Chauncey said.
