Arson investigators responded to the scene of a fire that burned along the Springwater Corridor in southeast Portland on Monday morning.
Firefighters were called out to reports of a grass fire between Southeast Lambert Street and 82nd Avenue at 6:20 a.m.
The fire was burning near Vital Auto Brokers.
Due to difficult access to the fire location and the distance from the nearest fire hydrant, additional fire engines and a water tender were called to the scene.
Once the fire was under control, investigators determined it started outside the fence line of Vital Auto Brokers and then burned onto the company's property.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Neighbors said there are numerous homeless campers on the Springwater Corridor in that area and fire investigators said they were interviewing some of those people Monday morning.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
There were no reports of any injuries in connection with the fire.
Initial reports suggested that gunshots were heard at the time the fire started, but police searched the area and did not find any evidence of gunfire.
