PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police are still looking for Fox 12's Most Wanted who killed a southeast Portland woman more than a year ago in a hit-and-run crash.

Now, a friend of the woman has posted a new sign in the neighborhood, hoping for answers.

The last year has been a difficult one for the family and friends of 60-year-old Marlene Popps.

"It's been really hard because she was my childhood friend and we were always together, and when you have someone in your life for so long and then all of a sudden they're taken away, you feel really empty."

A close friend of Marlene's, who does not want to be identified, put up a sign at Southeast 60th and Holgate on the Fourth of July, marking the one year anniversary of Marlene's death.

The sign says, in part: "Remember me? The one you hit-and-run and left for dead? Shame on you. It's time to man up and turn yourself in."

Marlene was hit by a motorcycle or three-wheeler as she was walking down the street and the impact threw her up into the air. She passed away at the hospital two weeks later.

Marlene's friend is hoping the person who hit her will see the new sign and be reminded that even though a year has passed, this isn't over.

"I just want them to know that we're not resting, so they shouldn't either. We're never going to give up. We're always going to be searching for you, and one day, one day we'll have an answer to who did this to her."
