DALLAS, TX (KPTV) -

Officers from all over the world, including from Portland, are in Dallas, Texas to pay their respects to the officers killed on July 7.

Fox 12 spoke with two local sergeants who are currently in Dallas.

"Heck, I would've hitchhiked to get down here. It's very important that we show the people down here that we stand beside them, that we mourn alongside them," said Sgt. Brian Jensen.

Jensen is in Dallas with five other Clackamas County deputies. Deputies from the Clark County Sheriff's office are also in Dallas.

The local officers joined thousands for the services for three of the officers killed.

Some officers came from as far away as Australia and Canada.

The local sergeants Fox 12 spoke with said it's important for all in the law enforcement community to show their support, and they also said they are amazed at how strong the community in Dallas is.

"These people are resilient. The officers, even with what went on are still committed to serving their communities and doing the best job they possibly can," said Sgt. Robert Latter with Clark County.

"It really makes us appreciate the support that our community has for us even more," said Jensen.

Some of the officers will stay down in Dallas for the services for the other two officers killed. Those will be held on Friday and Saturday.
