PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Homicide detectives are investigating a home invasion that ended with one of the suspects shot dead by a southeast Portland homeowner.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at a residence on the 8300 block of Southeast 64th Avenue just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday.

When they arrived at the scene, they discovered the homeowner suffering from what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The homeowner was sent by ambulance to an area hospital and was treated and released. Police noted the homeowner is cooperating with detectives.

Investigators said their primary investigation indicates the homeowner was the victim of a home invasion robbery that involved multiple suspects.

Officers found one of the suspects killed inside the home, while it appears the other suspects fled the area.

According to police, there is very little information on the other suspects available, and detectives are still following leading in the case.

Police ask that anyone with information on this incident please call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
