PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to the report of toxic exposure inside a Lasik eye surgery clinic near the Bridgeport Village Thursday.

The call came in just before 5 p.m. TVF&R said an employee had been exposed to potentially harmful gases used in the Lasik eye surgery procedure while changing out a gas cylinder.

TVF&R's Hazardous Materials Team responded to the scene, located in the 7400 block of Southwest Bridgeport Road.

One person was treated for minor symptoms as a result of the exposure to the gases. That person was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for evaluation.

The Hazmat team confirmed the leak was contained. TVF&R said the employee was able to shut the valve off before leaving the building.

TVF&R said no other signs of gas were found in the building and nearby businesses were not affected.
