Homeowner: Man asked to charge phone for 'Pokemon' then stole my wallet

Posted: Updated:

The Pokemon Go phenomenon shows no signs of going away, and now Portland police are investigating another incident connected to the popular game.

Dan Littlefield said he was inside his home on Southeast Knight Street, waiting for a friend, when he heard someone knocking on his door.

Littlefield said a man who was playing Pokemon Go at a nearby park asked to use one of his power outlets to charge his phone so he could keep playing the game.

Moments later, Littlefield said the man grabbed his wallet off a kitchen table and bolted out the door.

"I've heard a lot about this 'Pokey-Man.' I'm not really familiar with it," Littlefield said. "My daughter said, 'Well, they go around with their cell phones, and look for little 'cheek-a-poos,' or what the hell ever. And, so...we did weird things for fun, so I'm not going to judge that, but...."

Littlefield said the man rode off on a bike, and he got into his car to chase after him. Littlefield said he actually found the man and confronted him, but the man denied having the wallet.

Police did respond, and the investigation is ongoing.

Littlefield said he's not expecting to get his wallet back.
