Driver arrested after crash injures passenger

WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A driver is facing charges for a crash that injured a passenger in their car.

Washington County Deputies were called to a single vehicle crash on Southwest Riedweg Road in Washington County.

When deputies arrived they found a green 1992 Toyota Camry on its top and down a ravine.

Deputies found one passenger, and learned the driver and another passenger left on foot.

The two men who left the scene reportedly flagged down a car for help.

The Good Samaritan returned the two men to the crash scene.

Deputies say 22-year-old Randy Lopez-Perez was driving at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve, causing the car to roll down a ravine.

23-year-old Jesse Tarpley was a passenger, and was taken to OHSU with serious injuries.

Lopez-Perez is being charged with Assault, DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering.
