A group of young women attended a summer camp this weekend to learn what it’s like to be a firefighter.

The Portland Metro Fire Camp, hosted by Portland Fire and Rescue was at their training center in northeast Portland.

The camp was open to ladies age 16-20 years old.

Campers learned about things like operating fire hoses, search and rescue, operating the Jaws of Life, and more.

They also gained tips on nutrition, fitness and interview skills.
