SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

An attempted murder suspect was arrested for a shooting in June that was the result of a marijuana deal gone wrong, according to deputies.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office SWAT team executed a search warrant at 7 a.m. Tuesday on the 4800 block of Chinook Court Southeast in Salem.

Detectives arrested 46-year-old Shannon Sanders at the scene. He was identified as the suspect in a shooting on Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast that occurred on June 13.

Deputies responded to the shooting scene after reports of a man banging on doors asking for help. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Investigators said the victim and Sanders were involved in a marijuana drug deal that led to the shooting. The victim's name is not being released out of concern for his safety, according to the sheriff's office.

No other details were released about the investigation.

Sanders was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm and menacing.
