Philomath, OR (KPTV) -

One man was critically injured and three women were seriously injured in a head-on crash on Highway 20 about 11 miles west of Philomath.

Emergency crews responded to Milepost 35 at 4:40 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said a 2003 Chevrolet Impala driven by Nicolas Derbaum, 25, of Corvallis, was heading east when it crossed into the westbound lane.

The Chevrolet collided head-on with a 2007 Lexus RX SUV driven by 54-year-old Amy Breeze of Gig Harbor, Washington.

The Chevrolet came to a stop on the south side of the highway, while the SUV rolled once onto the north side of the road.

Derbaum was flown to the hospital with injuries described as critical. Breeze, along with two passengers, 75-year-old Alma Morgan and 58-year-old Katherine Harris, both from Gig Harbor, were taken to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Sgt. David Peterson at 541-766-6820.

The road was closed in the area for about four hours.
