TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

Officers with the Tigard Police Department are searching for a man suspected in the robbery of a deli in Tigard early Tuesday morning.

Police say an employee of Foxy’s Deli on Southwest Pacific Coast Highway called 911 around 1:15 a.m. The caller told officers that a single person entered the shop carrying a rifle and demanding money.

"He came directly to the counter, pointed it at my employee and demanded the money," the owner, Gary said. "She was just in shock."

In a panic, the female employee ran to the back and grabbed a bag of cash and handed it over to the suspect. Police said he was seen running across the Pacific highway.

"The timing was incredible it was probably one of the busiest nights that we've had," said Gary.

Investigators arrived on scene within minutes, and a K-9 unit was also brought in to assist with the search. However, no suspect was located.

The suspect is described as a white man, 6 feet tall with a muscular build. The employee said the man had black paint on his face at the time of the incident.

Police ask that anyone with information on this robbery please call 503-718-2677.
