FALL CITY, WA (KPTV) -

Washington State Patrol issued a ticket to a 28-year-old driver who admitted crashing into a car because he was playing Pokemon Go.

The crash occurred Monday on SR-202 near 332nd Street in Fall City.

Investigators said a Honda was heading eastbound on the highway when it hit the back of a Chevy sedan.

The driver of the Chevy had stopped to make a left turn. The woman driving the Chevy and her young son were not injured, according to troopers.

The driver of the Honda, whose name was not released by police, admitted to being distracted because he was focusing on his Pokemon Go app.

Washington State Patrol reports this is the first distracted driving crash the agency has responded to that was connected to Pokemon Go.

"The WSP urges gamers to consider safety over their high score," according to a statement from WSP.
