SHERIDAN, OR (KPTV) -

A Sheridan woman has pleaded guilty to two charges after she thought she lost the child she was babysitting in March, and meth was found in reach of the child.

Jill Michelle Auxier was in court Tuesday morning where she pleaded guilty to possession of meth and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Investigators say Auxier was watching a 4-year-old child of a friend back on March 7 when she said she sat the child down to watch a movie and went to take a shower. Auxier said when she got out of the shower, she couldn't find the child.

Auxier searched at a nearby school before returning to her home. Teachers from the school called deputies for help.

When Yamhill County Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they found the child hiding under a chair in the living room at the home. Deputies found methamphetamine in the home, and deputies determined that Auxier had been smoking marijuana in the bathroom while the child was alone in the living room.

Auxier is expected to be sentenced on November 22.
