CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

He's accused of threatening a judge and stalking his neighbor, and on Thursday Jonathan Snyders appeared in a Clackamas County courtroom.

Snyders is being charged with harassment, stalking and violating a protective order.

Deputies said he threatened a circuit court judge on Craigslist, posing with an assault rifle and writing: "You're a crooked [expletive] trying to take a guy's home security away judge... I got a little something in mind for you and your crooked blueeye Clackamas County Sheriff's." [sic]

Snyder's mother told Fox 12 on Wednesday that he has been struggling with anger, mental health and alcohol for years.

"I love him. I want to see him get help so he can live in peace too," said Linda Snyders.

Court records show the judge he's accused of threatening authorized a stalking order earlier this month filed by Snyders' next-door neighbor in Sandy, Shelby Kemper.

Kemper told Fox 12 on Wednesday that Snyders walked into their house drunk, has threatened them and has even shot at their house. She said they've been scared of him for years.

"I truly believe in my heart he would do something if he had the opportunity, yes," said Kemper.

In court Thursday, Snyders told the judge he wanted to represent himself but the judge encouraged him to get a court-appointed attorney.

Snyders' being held on a $250,000 bail and is due back in court next week.

If Snyders is granted bail, the judge said he is not allowed to contact the judge or his neighbor and her family. He's also ordered to not have weapons of any kind, or use alcohol or drugs.
