Wildfire burns about 13,000 acres south of Arlington

GILLIAM COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Crews are working to control a wildfire that is burning in Gilliam County near Arlington.

Gilliam County Emergency Management said the fire started around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, and has burned about 13,000 acres of land in Scott Canyon near the John Day River.

Chris Fitzsimmons with Gilliam Co. Emergency Management said no buildings are threatened. No evacuations have been ordered.

Winds continue to be an issue for firefighters and there is no containment on the fire.

There no word yet on the cause of the fire.
