PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

For the second day in a row, Biketown rental bicycles were vandalized in Portland.

The vandalism happened early Thursday afternoon at the Biketown station on North Williams Avenue and left six bikes out of commission.

An employee at the nearby New Seasons market said people walking outside noticed that several bikes had tires slashed.

The Biketown bike sharing program just launched in Portland this week, making hundreds of bikes available to visitors and locals who want to rent them.

Wednesday a bike station was vandalized with spray paint on Southeast 7th and Burnside.

Portland transportation officials don’t know the total cost of damages yet, but the bikes are currently being repaired.
