PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police arrested a woman late Thursday after they say she stole a truck and trailer the led officers on a chase onto Interstate 5.

Officers responded to a call just before 11:00 p.m. when a woman was reported to steal a truck and trailer near North Lombard Street and Alma Avenue.

Units from the North Precinct in the area spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to stop it near North Lombard and I-5.

After initially stopping, the driver sped away from police, first going onto I-5, then onto Interstate 405, then Northwest Vaughn Street, back onto I-405 and finally back onto I-5 headed south.

Spike strips were deployed on the freeway by the I-5 and Interstate 205 interchange, which slowly flattened the truck’s tires and forced the driver off the roadway on I-205 at Stafford Road.

The driver, 26-year-old Ranai Michelle Tolman was booked into the Multnomah County Jail. She faces charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, attempt to elude by vehicle, reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine.

Oregon State Police and the Tigard and Tualatin Police Departments aided in the pursuit.
