PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

One lucky high school student walked away with a new car Sunday at the Dick Hannah’s Strive 2 Drive event.

The Strive 2 Drive event is an academic initiative designed to encourage high school students to improve their grades.

High-School students in Clark, Cowlitz, Clackamas, Columbia, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Wasco, Washington and Yamhill counties were eligible to participate.

In order to participate in the drawing for the grand prize, students must attain a GPA of 3.5 or better during the 2015-2016 school year, or boost your previous GPA by at least a half-a-point.

The winner was announced Sunday at Portland International Raceway.

Noah Puckett from Union High School was this year's winner. Congratulations, Noah!
