ST. HELENS, OR (KPTV) -

The St. Helens Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of shooting at another man at a Chevron gas station Saturday night.

Police said they received several reports from people living in the 2200 block of Columbia Boulevard who said they heard gunshots around 12:45 a.m.

When police arrived they found empty shell casings in the street, but no victims, suspects, or damage.

A few hours later a man went to the St. Helens PD and said he was involved in a verbal altercation with another man at the Chevron located at 115 N. Columbia River Highway.

According to police, the man said they both drove away from the gas station and the other man shot at him.

The suspect is described as a white man about 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a red stocking cap and grey hooded sweatshirt. He was driving an early 90s, standard cab Chevrolet pickup that is light grey or silver.

If you have any information about the incident, please contact Lt. Rick Graham at 503-397-1521 or email at rickg@ci.st-helens.or.us.
