The voice of the Arabic Mickey Mouse and Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" is making his debut in Portland Opera's finale.
Ashraf Sewailam previously worked as a music director, dubbing Disney music into Arabic.
Though his main duties included teaching actors how to sing, he also did voices himself.
Now, the opera singer of 25 years is starring in "The Italian Girl in Algiers" at the Portland Opera. In the production, Sewailam plays a power-hungry ruler who is bested by an Italian woman determined to free her fiancé from his rule.
The production will be the Portland Opera's final show of the season.
There will be a free outdoor simulcast on July 27 at 7:30 p.m. outside of The Newmark Theatre.
